Insomnia is a brutal thing, a bittersweet ailment. They say that we sleep most of our life away, but not an insomniac. We survive on the bare minimum, a couple hours in the morning, sometimes only minutes. The years pass, daily tasks lag. In my youth I was lightening, sleep was seldom. The years passed and I became thunder, functioning within a system.
They say we spend a bulk of our life on the toilet, thank goodness I don't have severe constipation. Insomnia can be like a mental constipation or like an emotional diarrhea. But, it all depends on the person.
The more the time ticks we as individuals can feel wiped out. Little pieces of our soul stick in the cross hairs of life. It is important not to let negative vibrations crack our spirits. We must go with flow, blow with the winds my friends. I guess this entries moral was even though life can stink, it can also be a gas, gas, gas!
Gotta go,
Wes

I can't seem to trace the beginning of my sleepless nights. I know when I was younger, getting by on 5 hours or less of sleep felt normal.
But in my mid thirties, I found myself longing for the magical '8 hours' that is prescribed for most people. Trying to train myself to go to bed at 10 pm has been fruitless.
It really became a problem in my last relationship. Mookie sleeping style left much to be desired and aggrevated issues for me.
Anywho ... Stephen King wrote a story titled 'Insomnia' and the band Faithless has a song with the same name that really 'gets it'. Hope you were able to get some sleep.
I used to also get by on 4 hours per night, no problems. Right now I am averaging 5-6 per night, but only 2-3 are sound, the rest is tossing and turning, I am wiped by the end of the week.
Hope you have a tremendous week.
Short and sweet sentiments with a lot to say. I've never been much on sleep. I can't take naps like most people either.
When I was younger there wasn't time to sleep caring for my younger siblings. Leaving home at 16 and keeping a full time job and going to school, again no time for sleep.
I think we become accustomed to not sleeping much. I believe it was Benjamin Franklin that slept the bare minimum of a few hours a day. His genius definitely wasn't suffering from lack of sleep. (Hugs)Indigo
I noticed I have been going to bed earlier & earlier and getting up earlier. I always picture those crazy old people who go to bed at 7 and get up at 3:30. I sure hope not!!! :)
Insomnia can be a terrible condition and can be debilitating. I hope you've gotten some good rest.
